Birthday, Impending Graduation, and the Anticipation of Free Time

  • Birthday cupcakeFriday I turned 26. It was a great day as I felt much loved and very blessed to have all the people I have in my life. Birthday wishes came from those near and far from long-time friends to those I’ve only known a couple days/weeks (yay for Facebook). My girlfriends and I went out for a birthday dinner to a fabulous restaurant.  I had long phone calls with family members. I was reminded that I was loved by many, regardless of my flaws, weaknesses, quirks, or weight. It was a much needed reminder that couldn’t have come at a better time.
  • I’m graduating in 20 days. I can’t believe it. I remember starting my double-masters program 3 years ago like it was yesterday. Time is flying by. FLYING I tell you. This semester has been time consuming (lots of papers) but so far it’s going great and I’m not anticipating anything throwing me off course.
  • I rejoined Weight Watchers July 9th. So far so good. Weekend birthday was a little off kilter but overall I’m glad to be tracking again. It’s nice to feel some type of control.
  • Right now weight/health/exercise is backseat to school. I have some big papers and my thesis remaining and realistically know I won’t have a lot of free time. I’m just focusing on staying on track weight watcher-wise and riding my bike daily. I am looking forward to being grad school free in a couple weeks though and getting to spend more time focusing on my health.
